My favorite restaurant of all the places I have ever been. Great food and prices.
Metal in food!!! Until yesterday, I had this rated as the best Chinese in Brattleboro (which isn't saying a whole lot...), but had to drop three stars after what happened. Went with two other people for lunch, midway through the meal, my girlfriend picks out a piece of metal from her mouth that was inside the sesame chicken. We alerted the waitress and she just took the piece of metal from her, and acted like nothing happened. Didn't appear to notify anyone in the kitchen, or anything. The piece of metal It looked like a staple, my gf thinks it was aluminum foil, but in any case, it could have turned into a serious emergency had she swallowed it. The restaurant's response, or lack their of, was outrageous. You'd think they'd at least send a manager over to make sure everything was okay. Nope!I I wanted to leave but unfortunately, shamed to admit the food tasted so good we all stayed to finish our meals anyway. My gf could tell I was not happy with what happened to her and the way they brushed it off, but made me promise to keep my mouth shut and play along like everything was fine. Is it normal for restaurants that put metal in your food to not comp that meal, or at least offer a soda or something in compensation for almost sending a customer to the ER? Because at Panda North, that's exactly what they did. My too nice gf just smiled and accepted the bill in full, even leaving a $10 tip on a $30 lunch. The most she allowed me to do was post what happened on Google, so I had to. True, we've never had it happen there before, and the food does taste good, but perhaps the rumors of the kitchen there being dirty are true, because metal does not belong in food.
Considering I had some really great Chinese a couple days before, we kept the trend going. It took a little while longer than I would have liked for take out, but the food was both hot and fresh, so I'm not complaining.
Superlative dining. My Seafood Birds Nest was laden with Scallops, Jumbo Shrimp, Crab Meat and 1/2 Lobster Tail all mixed with the sauteed veggies we all love nestled in the dried noodle nest. The nest absorbed some of the delectable sauce making for a wonderful finish to the meal. Wait staff are attentive. Never rush you. The well poured Scorpion beverage perfectly complemented the meal. Will gladly return again and again. Highly recommend!
Great food. I have eaten here for nearly 30 years. They continue to make a delicious meal that is pleasing to the eye and stomach.
