Wandered in here yesterday and was very pleased I had. Full of an eclectic mix of books and small gifts (Bernie Sanders Chocolate, bless 'im, Virginia Woolf magnets). I look forward to going again. The store is actually organized quite well - sometimes stores can be a nightmare to navigate, but not this one. Small store, but in this case lots of good things come in a small package.
I'm not wealthy enough to go on shopping sprees but if I was my first stop would be at this activist's paradise. as a queer black person I was skeptical of an "activist bookstore" (considering the majority white population in Brattleboro and the whole state) but the owners here put true care into procuring great books across all disciplines from both major and obscure authors from around the world
Fabulous independent bookseller. Great selection, super helpful staff, quickly gets books not in stock. I live browsing their shelves! Always a wonderful variety of books on the sale table.
Certainly one of the best progressive bookstores in North America. Friendly staff and atmosphere.
